Seminar demonstrates benefits of integrating product performance intelligence with boundary-scan
NEWS RELEASE – April 23, 2003 -- More than 25 design, test and manufacturing companies attended a joint seminar in Sunnyvale, Calif. sponsored by ASSET InterTech, a leader in boundary-scan (IEEE 1149.1/JTAG) test and in-system programming (ISP), and SigmaQuest, Inc., a leader in product performance intelligence. The seminar was called “From Prototype to Profit” and it showcased integrated solutions for testing high-density printed circuit boards and managing test and diagnostics data across distributed design, manufacturing, and field organizations.
ASSET and SigmaQuest are working together to help engineers get products to market faster while increasing quality and lowering costs. At the seminar, presenters from both companies demonstrated how test engineers could achieve optimal results using ASSET®’s ScanWorks™ for highly automated testing with SigmaQuest’s SigmaSure for real-time access to test data. The following key advantages of an integrated solution were highlighted during the seminar:

Ensure consistent quality through advanced diagnostic and debug tools, early warning systems, and genealogy and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
Ship products faster, provide real-time visibility in the field, and reduce time-to-profits.
Lower cost of ownership using commercially available products that are scalable and flexible.
Lower cost of manufacturing by reducing cost of goods sold (COGs) and streamlining the test process.
“Our relationship with SigmaQuest is an example of our policy of partnering with market leaders to provide a complete test solution to our customers. SigmaQuest’s unique approach to test data management enables our customers to optimize their test processes based on data, leading to increased productivity and faster time-to-profits,” said Dave Bonnett, ASSET’s Technical Product Manager. ”SigmaSure provides features our customers have asked for in a package that works across all test strategies and throughout the product lifecycle.”

“ASSET is a leader in benchtop boundary-scan test and programming. SigmaSure's integration with ScanWorks allows our shared customers to reduce test development costs and access seamless test and data management solutions throughout their products' life cycles,” said Nader Fathi, SigmaQuest CEO. “It is great to work with ASSET because we are able to help our customers even more to achieve quality in their manufactured products.”

About ASSET InterTech
ASSET InterTech, Inc. develops, markets, sells, and supports boundary-scan testability and in-system programming (ISP) products worldwide. ASSET’s PC-based ScanWorks™ environment allows users to quickly and easily test semiconductors, circuit boards or entire systems during every phase of a product's life, including design, manufacturing/repair and field maintenance. The ISP capabilities of ScanWorks can be used to load software or data into programmable devices after they have already been connected to a printed circuit board. The ScanWorks product family works in conjunction with a standard of the International Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IEEE) society known as the IEEE 1149.1 (JTAG) boundary-scan test specification. ASSET's Ensure DFT Services provides high-level design-for-test engineering and development services to the electronics industry. ASSET InterTech is located outside of Dallas at 2201 North Central Expressway, Suite 105, Richardson, TX 75080.
