Paper Describes NI and SigmaSure Solution for Managing Globally Dispersed Manufacturing SANTA CLARA, Calif., - September 1, 2004 - SigmaQuest, Inc., a leader in Product Performance Intelligence, announced that Mr. Bill Crook, CSI Wireless, and Mr. Nader Fathi, SigmaQuest, were selected by National Instruments as finalists in the NIWeek 2004 Virtual Instrumentation Paper Contest. The paper contest is held annually as part NIWeek, NI's user conference and exhibition.
Mr. Crook and Mr. Fathi co-authored the paper " Creating a Global Manufacturing Test System for Fixed-Wireless Telephones Using NI LabWindows/CVI." The paper discusses the real-world challenges CSI faced for developing and testing complex configure-to-order, fixed-wireless telephones (FWT) in geographically dispersed locations. It describes the NI LabWindows/CVI and SigmaQuest SigmaSure solution CSI has implemented to track to track all stages of the production flow at different manufacturing plants around the world including assembly, configuration, testing, packing, and shipping. More than 140 authors from nine countries submitted 77 papers to the NIWeek 2004 Virtual Instrumentation Paper Contest. A judging committee of more than 100 technical publication editors and NI experts judged the papers on three criteria - technical challenge, innovation, and cost effectiveness. During NIWeek 2004, 29 category winners and finalists presented their papers during the NIWeek User Sessions. The applications were also displayed at the NIWeek Poster Session.
